No time to sleep when the mountain calls.....Ama Dablam, Himalayas.
Puerto Rico has been devastated by Hurricane Maria. Houses destroyed, streets flooded and supplies dwindling. During my time spent in Puerto Rico, it has become a home away from home and I've gained life long friends there. Upon arrival, Oct 21st, we (@adventureabides) will be partnering with our brother @simonebirch to help serve and love on the people of Puerto Rico. I ask that if you're reading this and haven't found an outlet to donate yet, that you would consider giving to the work we will be doing. 1$ or 100$, it's all appreciated and will be put towards help fixing the damage brought upon by the hurricane. 100% of your donations will go towards blessing the people of PR. You can donate through Venmo or PayPal: Adventure Abides. In these next few weeks of preparation I will keep you updated on support raised and some more details of what we will be doing out there. If you have any questions please dm me or comment below.

When I first started working for the National Park Service, I knew that it would be difficult to land a permanent job. So many people tried to dissuade me and I heard horror story after horror story of people working for 10+ years and not being able to get one. But I knew this was the career path I wanted. So I mentally prepared myself for years of constantly moving and park hopping as a seasonal. I knew it would be worth the sacrifice. As I did that, I worked hard. Always maintaining 3+ jobs at a time while in a park to supplement my income for the off season and volunteering on my days off for the work experience, while all the while remembering to make time for adventures, photography, and self care. It has been exhausting.
Over the years I have been able to experience a lot of cool places as a result of this though and I will always remember this time as being something incredibly special and something I will forever cherish.
However, this chapter in my life is coming to close.
Why? Because I have been offered and accepted one of those coveted permanent positions in none other than ZION NATIONAL PARK! I knew that my hard work would eventually pay off, and it has much sooner than I expected. I am so excited to put down some roots in a place and community that is so near and dear to my heart. So come November 12, its me and you Zion. Never let someone tell you that your dreams are impossible.

Posting up in Fernie this weekend.
It’s cool to take the on this town during the off season. We’ve traded in the big days of adventure for a wind down and refresh, and this is the perfect spot.
